Donald M. Axelrad, PhD
Dr. Axelrad received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, a Master of Science degree in Environmental & Industrial Health from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Ph.D. in Marine Science from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia.
Don is now a retired professor of environmental health sciences, who in his academic career researched toxicant and human health issues, in particular mercury and lead.
Because of his lengthy career in environmental health science, Dr. Axelrad has become familiar with a breadth of environmental topics and has lectured at the university level on PFAS, PBT, EDC, PM2.5, as well as on climate change, biodiversity decline, and sustainable development.
In retirement, Don remains active, reading, lecturing on environmental topics to the public and universities, and advocating for solutions to environmental problems.
